A curated brand space proposal for the launch of MERIT Beauty's Retrospect L'Extrait de Parfum, a fragrance built around the artistry of classic perfumery and the emotional power of nostalgia.
The concept, The Art of Scent, translates the fragrance's five notes into five artist-led sensory stations, each linking a female photographer, Yudi Ela Echevarria, Hanna Tveite, Pia Riverola, Lauren Bamford, and Suzanne Saroff, to a specific note: aldehydes, musk, jasmine, bergamot, and pear. Visitors move through the space as they would through the fragrance itself, experiencing each layer built on the last.
The full space included a digital storytelling wall documenting the creation process, ceiling installations of fragrance sketches and scent swatches, a Retrospect bottle installation, and a short film featuring founder Katherine Power and master perfumer Fanny Bal.
